Eric Roth is a managing director and head of the consumer retail group at Lazard Middle Market. He has more than 16 years of experience advising public and private companies on all phases of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and restructuring transactions, during which time he has worked on more than 40 completed assignments. Specifically, Mr. Roth has deep experience in the consumer retail space, with (i) channel expertise in ecommerce, direct selling, catalog, and multi-unit specialty retail, and (ii) product expertise in apparel and accessories, craft beer, home goods, pet products, and wellness/personal care. Representative transactions include advising: • Apparel and Accessories: Sheplers on its sale to Boot Barn; Sundance on its sale to Brentwood Associates; Golfsmith on its sale to Golftown; and Origami Owl on its recapitalization • Craft Beer: Oskar Blues Brewing Company on its partnership with Fireman Capital and Mill Street Brewery on its sale to LeBatt Brewing • Home Goods: Bluestem Brands on its sale to CapMark; Power Equipment Direct on its sale to Ferguson/Build.com; and ComVest on its acquisition of Discountmugs.com • Pet Products: Chewy.com on its capital raise with Volition Capital and Petflow on its strategic alternatives • Wellness/Personal Care: Vitamin World, a segment of NBTY, on its sale to Centre Lane; Hand & Stone on its sale to Levine Leichtman; and Kiss My Face on its partnership with Caltius Prior to joining Lazard Middle Market, Mr. Roth was an associate in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group of Dewey Ballantine LLP, a New York based, international law firm. Mr. Roth received a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics-political science from Columbia University.
